Assistant Life Editor
The Straits Times
Ms Amy Lee Siew Hua covers lifestyle and design for The Straits Times, Singapore’s national English-language newspaper and omnichannel platform. Amy has worked overseas extensively. In Washington, she established the United States Bureau for The Straits Times and later joined the World Bank as a consultant. In Bangkok, she covered Thailand, Myanmar, Vietnam and Cambodia as a foreign correspondent. These overseas postings positioned her to take up the role as ST’s first Travel Editor, and eventually share her travels to all seven continents with readers. She received global media network TravMedia’s inaugural Lifetime Achievement Award (Travel Editor) in 2024. Travel and global affairs were also key domains when she edited a multimedia luxury lifestyle magazine and when she played world-watcher as a Sunday columnist. Throughout her diverse portfolios, travel and hospitality have been Amy’s abiding love. She inspires readers to explore the world savvily through experiential design, travel, news or any pursuit. She also initiates omnichannel partnerships with pay-offs for all parties; and continues to create journalistic firsts anchored in societal benefits.
